Gems
In Eligium you will
have the chance to loot gems while fighting monster. Gems are special because
they can be socketed into an equipment and it will gain addition
stats/attributes. Only certain equipment can be socketed with gems and you can easily know that by simply hovering or left
clicking on an item. Equipment with four bonus attributes can be modified to
have gem sockets using armor/weapon perforation nail from the cash item mall.
Gem of the same grade may vary on value of the gained attribute. A regular topaz may have a +8 magical defense and another one with +9 and so on.
Gems can be combined
to make a higher grade gem using the Galgaron Cube in the Soul Circle (U).

Gem Combining rule:
- Minimum of three gems of the same grade can be combined.
- Every additional gem added will increase the success rate by 25%.
- The maximum number is five which will have a success rate of 75%.
- You can actually raise your success rate to a 100 using Refine Gems dropped by monsters. A Refine Gem can be place in the treasure slot in the Galgaron cube. Refine Gem (Lv1 to Lv4) increases your success rate by 25% combining Lv1 to lv4 gems while Refine Gem (Lv5 to Lv10) increases the success rate by 25% on combining Lv5 to Lv10 gems.
If you are going to make a +5 gem, using the 5 maximum allowable slots and assuming you will not fail any attempt, you will need about 5x5x5x5x5 gems which is a whopping 3125 gems. But i just can't imagine the power of a +5 gem! But based on my personal experience, combining gem is not very easy to do even with the 75% chance. I think I have failed more than I have succeeded on gem combination, then maybe im just unlucky since gem combination, rune upgrading, weapon augmentaion is always based on your luck!
