Gem Combination and Socketing

Gems

In Eligium you will have the chance to loot gems while fighting monster. Gems are special because they can be socketed into an equipment and it will gain addition stats/attributes. Only certain equipment can be socketed with gems and you can  easily know that by simply hovering or left clicking on an item. Equipment with four bonus attributes can be modified to have gem sockets using armor/weapon perforation nail from the cash item mall.

Gem of the same grade may vary on value of the gained attribute. A regular topaz may have a +8 magical defense and another one with +9 and so on.

Gems can be combined to make a higher grade gem using the Galgaron Cube in the Soul Circle (U).

The Soul Circle can be opened by pressing U. It has many functions that will be very helpful in  equipment upgarding which includes gem upgrading.

Gem Combining rule:

  • Minimum of three gems of the same grade can be combined.
  • Every additional gem added will increase the success rate by 25%.
  • The maximum number is five which will have a success rate of 75%.
  • You can actually raise your success rate to a 100 using Refine Gems dropped by monsters. A Refine Gem can be place in the treasure slot in the Galgaron cube. Refine Gem (Lv1 to Lv4) increases your success rate by 25% combining Lv1 to lv4 gems while Refine Gem (Lv5 to Lv10) increases the success rate by 25% on combining Lv5 to Lv10 gems.
If you are going to make a +5 gem, using the 5 maximum allowable slots and assuming you will not fail any attempt, you will need about 5x5x5x5x5 gems which is a whopping 3125 gems. But i just can't imagine the power of a +5 gem! But based on my personal experience, combining gem is not very easy to do even with the 75% chance. I think I have failed more than I have succeeded on gem combination, then maybe im just unlucky since gem combination, rune upgrading, weapon augmentaion is always based on your luck!

Eligium PH team

I did not expect the CBT to end so soon, I only played the game for more than a week! But maybe people at Level Up are just striking while the iron is hot. It will not escape your notice that all lines are always busy which only means that a lot of players are checking this game out.

Welcome to Eligium!

Eligium Ph is the new offering of Level Ph to all Pinoy gamers out there and is currently on it's CBT stage. The game is a MMORPG  with very nice features I'd been hoping to see in other games of the same genre.  To give you an example, the game features both a consignment and a vending option, you might think it is redundant but i played other games without the vending option and some players rant about not having one. on the other hand, some players want to sell items while hunting monsters so it's more convenient use the consignment. It is always good to have many options.

Another feature of the game that I'm so excited about is the mount system, in this game your mount acts like an equipment, it will give you extra stats (hp, mana) while boosting your movement speed. And isn't it great to ride your mount in and out of combat? Who says only Luna Moonfang and Mirana can have those cool rides while kicking some a**.  Inside the dungeons you will not see your character mounted but you will still have the bonus stats which is a little of a downside.

Initially, we have four classes to choose; warrior, mage, hunter and the druid. The other class which is the fighter is currently not usable until you have a level 60 character. But if the level cap of the game in the OBT is 50 I think we will be waiting a long time to access this class. The classes are not gender locked and you have to choose between two jobs offered per class.

When you have decided what your class will be, then comes the next question. What faction will you join? Eligium presents us with two rivalling factions, the Holy Kingdom of Sanctia and the Glorious Empire of Honorold. Either one of the factions you'll choose will give you the same privileges in game. You can not trade, mail or befriend other characters from other factions in short the only thing you can do is either kill or ignore a player you encounter from a different legion. There is also two separate consignment on each faction meaning items sold by a player from Honorold  can't be seen on the Sanctia consignment and vice versa.

The game combat actions are decent looking but there are no sounds on some skills when you use them, the basic attack is the most noticeable example of this. Maybe Level up will fix this prior to OBT. Skills are acquired/bought from designated trainers for each different races and classes. Once acquired you can level up your skills by using them on a fix number of times. If the skill must be you used 100 times to level it up then you must use it to that effect in or out of the battle(sandbag training) to make that happen. Every skill has a limit of five levels, once it reaches that cap you can strengthen them by skill mastery through your designated NPC.

The downside of this game that i have experienced so far is that some monsters have very long respawn time,  though these monster are often optional quest requirement, you can't deny the fact that they drop good loots which is very helpful for any player in building his equipment set. Pet Bobbi for an instance respawns every two hours. With four channels available at the moment, you have 4 chances of killing Pet Bobbi every two hours.

Overall Ithink the game is good except for those bugs ( what game hasn't?).I'm very excited for the OBT  and I hope it will be sooner!
